Please join us for this upcoming presentation for parents, grandparents, caregivers on "Transitions Through Power Struggles" facilitated by Arden Carr, LMFT.  This presentation is Monday April 8th at 6:30 PM at Tulelake Elementary.  Arden is a facinating presenter with years of experience with families and a vast knowledge of mental health.  Free Dinner and Childcare are provided.  Please call to pre-register.

February 2013 Monthly Activities & Calendar




Fitness and Nutrition Activities (Adults and Youth 14 and up)-

Zumba Fitness- Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays @ 5:00 PM ($3 fee with membership/ $5 without)  MOVED TO CAFETERIA DURING FACILITY REPAIRS.

Tuesday Night Volleyball- Each Tuesday night starting at 5:15 PM (January 1st FREE w/Membership or $2 without)  CANCELLED FOR FACILITY REPAIRS WATCH FOR UPDATES.

Dad's Basketball - Thursdays at 6 PM (FREE w/membership, $2 without)  CANCELLED FOR FACILITY REPAIRS WATCH FOR UPDATES.

Senior Exercise Classes - Mondays and Thursdays 8-9 AM ($5/mo membership required)  CANCELLED FOR FACILITY REPAIRS WATCH FOR UPDATES.

Group Activities for Adults and Seniors-

Pinochle Card Playing - Each Thursday starting at 9 AM

Activities for Families-

Drop In Play Groups- The drop in play area is for parent and child and is available during normal business hours Monday through Friday 8 AM to 6 PM.  CANCELLED FOR FACILITY REPAIRS WATCH FOR UPDATES.

Community Advisory Committee Meeting- February 28th at 1 PM

Commodity Food Program- Febuary 21st 1 to 3 PM

Nutrition Education- Harvest of the Month (HOTM) Taste Testing of Fruit and Vegetables and Story time literacy activities are held monthly at the Pre-K classes, Small Blessings Daycare and the Escuelita Montessori. My plate education is also held in Pre-K classrooms monthly.

Health and Safety Education- Presentations are held monthly in the Pre-k classes topics include:
Manners, Hand Washing, Dental Hyiene, Nutrition, Being thankful, Winter Safety, Toy safety, Fire safety, Stranger danger, 911 practice, First aid, Graphing, Outdoor safety, Water safety, and Rethink your drink.


Parenting Education-

Nurturing Parenting 6 wk Series- starts Jan 8th, Tuesdays and Thursdays 9 to 11AM

PreK parent meeting/Parenting Enrichment- starting at 5:30 PM
Jan 15th- Guidance & Discipline for Preschoolers with Deputy Director of DV&C Carla Charraga

Santa Claus is coming to town!



Community, Family and Friends:  Santa Claus is coming to town!  Please join us on December 21st for pictures with santa, ornament making, snacks, and FREE stockings courtesy of the Tulelake Peace Officers Association all starting at 1 PM.  From 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM we will be serving a Holiday Dinner to everyone!   Dinners to go are available.  Thanks to the generous work of our very dear friends Ken & Mertha Warwick and a grant from Ford Family Foundation this family holiday meal is FREE.  Thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers and supporters in the community, please join us!
